Use this Checklist to self-assess and improve (if needed) the extent to which an entry-level human-propelled boating skills course follows ABYC EDU-2: On-Water Recreational Boating Skills–Human-propelled American National Standard.
EDU-2 is designed for on-water entry-level courses in recreational human-propelled craft operation, in which instruction is delivered primarily on boats, upon the water, and focused on skills development. For information about EDU-2, visit www.usnows.org.
Use the results of this self-assessment and supporting documentation to provide evidence that a course complies with EDU-2. Complete this Checklist as though you are planning to share it with other people for review. Be concrete and specific with references so anyone reviewing the results will know exactly where to find the information referenced that proves the course includes instruction and evaluation for each skill Element identified in EDU-2.
